BISMARCK -- Defending WDA and Class A champion Dickinson is the coaches' pick to win this year's conference regular season softball title. The Midgets received 64 points and eight first place votes -- the most allowable in the poll as coaches cannot vote for their team.

Bismarck High collected 55 points and was second in voting. The Demons, which were runner-up to Dickinson at last spring's Class A Tournament, garnered the only other first place vote. Minot was third with 45 points while Century and Jamestown tied for fourth with 42 points. Legacy was sixth (29); Mandan was seventh (24); Williston was eighth (15) and Watford City was ninth (8). The annual poll was conducted by Matt Mullally, WDA executive secretary.

Notes: This marks the 11th year of WDA/West Regon play...TMCHS Belcourt has elected to play mostly a sub-varsity schedule due to low numbers and younger players in the program...Bismarck Public Schools will host this year's WDA Tournament, May 26-28...Jamestown will host the Class A Tournament, June 2-4
