2019 WDA Girls' Tennis Poll

WDA coaches tab Mandan in annual preseason girls' tennis poll

BISMARCK – Mandan received six first place votes and 61 points to take the top spot in the annual WDA girls' tennis coaches poll. Minot, the defending WDA and state champion, was second in voting with 54 points and two first place votes. Legacy was third with 51 points and also received a first place vote.

Century was fourth in voting with 37 points. Bismarck High and Dickinson tied for fifth with 35 points. St. Mary's was seventh with 23 points. Jamestown was eighth with 18 points and Williston was ninth with 10 points. Teams received eight points for a first place vote; seven points for second place; six for third place; five for fourth place; four for fifth place; three for sixth; two for seventh; and one for eighth. Coaches did not include their teams in voting. The poll was conducted by Matt Mullally, WDA executive secretary.

Season notes

The 2019 season begins on Friday, April 12, weather permitting, with several non-conference duals. The Minot Round Robin Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 13. This year's West Region Tournament is again hosted by Minot, May 23-25.The state tournament is again in Grand Forks, May 30-June 1.
