The 2026 postseason began with a pair of WDA Tournament play-in games involving seeds 7-8-9-10. Winners advanced to the quarterfinals on May 21 at Municipal Ballpark in Bismarck. Loser-out and semifinal games scheduled for May 22 were moved to May 23 due to rain. Semifinals, loser-out, state qualifiers and the championship were played on May 23. Bismarck Public Schools Activities hosted the event.

The 2026 baseball season in the Western Dakota Association was marked by intense competition and standout performances, culminating in a thrilling WDA Tournament. Minot High emerged as the champions, defeating Mandan 5-4 in a closely contested final at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark. The two reaching the finals for a second-straight season. Unlike last year when both were the top two seeds, Mandan was the No. 8 seed and Minot High was the No. 6 seed in this year's tourney.
Bismarck Legacy led the regular season with a strong 15-5 record in WDA action, but their postseason run ended unexpectedly in the quarterfinals against Mandan, who pulled off a major upset with a 5-3 victory. Dickinson also made a solid showing, finishing with a 13-7 record in the conference and advancing to the semifinals before falling to Minot High.
The WDA Tournament, held on May 23 after rain delays, featured dramatic matchups. Mandan, the eighth seed, surprised many by defeating top-seeded Legacy and advancing to the finals. Meanwhile, Minot North, another strong contender, faced off against Minot High in the semifinals, but Minot High secured a decisive 15-4 win to move on to the championship game.
Throughout the season, several players distinguished themselves. Minot's offense was particularly highlighted in the championship game, with key contributions from their lineup that proved crucial in tight situations. Mandan's pitcher delivered a commendable performance, but it wasn't enough to secure the title against Minot's relentless attack.
