AA Season Notes & Statistical Leaders

*This marked the 43rd season of WDA-sponsored play. *For the first time, three classes of volleyball were featured -- AA, A and B. *Century won its 18th WDA regular season title and 12th-straight West Region Tournament crown. *Century, Jamestown, Minot High and Bismarck High were AA Division state qualifiers. *Minot High made its first state appearance since 2011. *Bismarck High advanced to the AA Tournament for a third-straight season. *Century was the lone WDA team to win its quarterfinal match. The Patriots would go on to place fourth. *WF Sheyenne won the Division AA state title, defeating Fargo Davies. *Dickinson’s Jenna Nelson was region senior athlete of the year. *Minot High’s Jesse Goertzen was the WDA coach of the year. *Dickinson changed its nickname/mascot to Mavericks. *Century and Bismarck High won 30 or more matches. *The WDA posted a 37-63 record vs. EDC opponents. *Mandan hosted the West Region Tournament for the first time since 2017. Postseason Results

The 2025 volleyball postseason began with the AA West Region Tournament. The top six finishers in the WDA regular season standings advanced to the quarterfinal round  held at Mandan High School. Two play-in matches (7 vs. 10 and 8 vs. 9) were held to determine the final two quarterfinalists. Loser-out and semifinal matches were held on Nov. 14 with two state qualifiers and the championship on Nov. 15. The four placewinners advanced to the Division AA state tournament held at the Bismarck Event Center, Nov. 20-22. The Division A Tournaments began onNov. 10 with quarterfinals. TMCHS (Belcourt) competed in Region 3 in Minot. Watford City competed in Region 4 in Beulah.
