Girls Golf: Watford City Invite

WATFORD CITY - Legacy pulled out another tournament title, this time needing to a bit deeper in its lineup to secure the victory. With Legacy and Dickinson tied with a score of 358, the tie-break was determined on the better No. 5 scorer for each team. The Sabers had it, and earned the Watford City Invite on Sept. 4 at Fox Hills G.C. The Mavericks didn't go empty handed, though. Dickinson's Mikayla Schwindt won medalist honors. The senior and Rawni Roemmich of Legacy carded the low round of 81. A playoff was held to see who earned medalist honors. It took two holes for Schwindt to win. Conditions were windy on the links-style layout, creating challenging conditions. Mandan was third followed by Cnetury in fourth and Watford City in fifth. The meet was also the conference's second state individual qualifier. Golfers who hard rounds of 96 or better qualified for the Class A Tournament. Ella Hogan from Dickinson finished third with a score of 82.
