Girls Cross Country: Rusty Bucket
Event Recap
BISMARCK - Century placed five runners in the top 10 en route to the team title at the annual Rusty Bucket Meet on Aug. 28 at McDowell Dam Recreation Area, east of Bismarck. The Patriots 26 points was comfortably ahead of runner-up Mandan with 51. Bismarck High was third with 60.
Legacy finished in fourth place with a score of 115.
Hayva Weisbeck of Mandan was the individual winner, finishing the 4,000 meter course in 14:11. Summer Olson and Audrey Echelbarger, both from Century, also had strong performances, finishing second and third, respectively.
This season-opening meet featured 84 varsity runners. Conditions were a bit muggy. The course will also host the annual Anderson-Stavn Invite on Sept. 12 and the WDA Championships on Oct. 10.
