MANDAN - Bismarck Century edged Bismarck Legacy 3-2 in a thrilling shootout during the State Tournament Consolation Semis. Century improved to 9-6-3 overall, while Legacy finished their season 16-3-0.
Century took an early lead with a goal by Charlie Anderson in the 22nd minute. Cale McEvers extended the lead to 2-0 in the 34th minute, assisted by Charles Eastgate. Legacy's Uriel Rivera responded with a goal in the 43rd minute and later equalized with a penalty kick in the 69th minute.
The match was decided in a shootout where Century prevailed, scoring five goals to Legacy's four. Key contributions came from McEvers, Silas Kaldor, Jaxon Jahnke, Teagan Schlichen Mayer, and Deakyn Koch for Century.
Century will face Minot (9-3 WDA, 9-4 overall) on October 18 in the fifth place match.
