MANDAN - Minot edged Jamestown 2-1 in the State Tournament Consolation Semis, improving to 10-4-4 overall while Jamestown concluded their season at 7-10-2.
Jamestown's Grady Eckart opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with an unassisted goal, giving his team an early lead. Minot responded quickly, equalizing just two minutes later when Drew Bohlender converted a penalty kick, assisted by Charles Eastgate.
The decisive moment came in the 74th minute when Dylan Oswalt scored an unassisted goal to secure Minot's victory. Goalkeeper Ian Stewart was pivotal for Minot, making six saves to preserve the win.
With this victory, Minot advances to face Bismarck Century, who hold a 9-6 overall record, in the fifth place match on October 18.
