MANDAN - Fargo South defeated Fargo Shanley 6-1 in the state tournament semifinals, improving their record to 12-3-2, while Shanley fell to 8-5-4.
Fargo South took an early lead with a 7th minute own goal by Shanley, followed by Ethan Eiler's unassisted goal in the 14th minute. Eiler added another goal in the 58th minute, showcasing his offensive prowess.
Moussa Sanoh and Prajal Rai contributed significantly to South's victory. Sanoh scored in the 43rd minute, assisted by Rai, and later assisted Success Torow's goal in the 69th minute. Rai capped the scoring with a goal in the 71st minute, assisted by Nathaniel Kun.
Fargo South will face Grand Forks Red River (3-0) on October 18, while Fargo Shanley will play West Fargo Sheyenne (2-1) on the same day.
