BISMARCK - Bismarck Legacy stunned top-ranked Bismarck Century with a 57-52 victory on Friday night, improving to 11-5 in the Western Dakota Association and 13-6 overall. Century, previously undefeated, fell to 14-1 in the WDA and 17-2 overall.
Legacy's Jonathan Roubideaux led the charge with a double-double, scoring 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting and grabbing 8 rebounds. Teammate Brody Weigel added 12 points and 5 rebounds, contributing to Legacy's 38.6% shooting from the field. The Sabers capitalized on Century's 10 turnovers, scoring 11 points off those mistakes.
For Century, Gibson Kinnebrew matched Roubideaux's 22 points, shooting an efficient 7-of-10 from the field. Zavior Harlidstad also contributed with 16 points and 6 assists, but the Patriots' 51.5% shooting wasn't enough to secure the win.
The victory snapped Century's 33-game win streak, marking Legacy's first victory over their crosstown rivals in over two seasons. Legacy's defense was pivotal, forcing 10 turnovers and limiting Century to just 5 offensive rebounds.
