Bismarck defeats Century, 4-3

August 20, 2026  ·  Boys Soccer  ·  WDA Sports

BISMARCK - Bismarck High and Century combined for seven goals in a wild shootout in WDA play on a sunny and warm evening at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. When it was over, the host Demons held on for a 4-3 victory over its rival. BHS scored four times in the opening half and held off a second half rally by Century, which was making its season debut.

Senior Camren Haase staked BHS to a 1-0 lead. The Demons led 2-0 before Century's senior Cale McEvers got the Patriots on the board. Haase would add another and Liam Chathams also scored twice for the Demons. That three-goal margin held until the Patriots' offense made things interesting. Century scrambled in the final minutes to get a few more changes, but BHS goalie Ean Marcus made some key saves. The victory by the Demons was its second in a row and first over Century since the 2024 season. Looking ahead, Bismarck will face Mandan-St. Mary's, who are 1-0-0 overall, on August 25. Century will aim to bounce back against Williston, who hold a 1-1-0 record, also on August 25.
