Minot defeats Mandan-St. Mary's, 6-0
October 10, 2026 · Boys Soccer · WDA Sports
MINOT - Minot High will head into the ND state boys' tournament knowing how to put the ball into the goal. The Magicians have scored 61 goals in 16 matches. Six more came in a shutout over Mandan-St. Mary's on Oct. 10 in the season finale for both teams.
Minot High will be one of the favorites at next week's state tournament in Fargo. And for good reason, the squad has demonstrated it can play fast and still be stout on the back end. That was evident against the Braves.
Grayon Steele opened the scoring at the eight-minute mark. That score held until David Rodriguez and Marko Canal netted goals late in the half. Minot would score a trio more in the latter stages of the second half.
The Magicians finished the regular season with a 14-0-2 mark and will be the West's top seed at the state tournament. Mandan-SM, meanwhile, ended its regular season with an 8-5-3 mark. The Braves will be a No. 4 seed at the state tournament.
