Minot defeats Bismarck, 6-3

MINOT - Minot High opened conference play with a 6-3 victory over visiting Bismarck High on Aug. 27 at Hammond Park. The Magi improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the WDA. Bismarck fell to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the WDA.
The Magi took a big step toward clinching the dual by taking four of the six singles matches. The Magi earned wins at No. 2 (Connor Ressler), 3 (Tyson Barden), 4 (Aiden Bye) and 6 (Torston Beall). BHS' junior Reed Romsaas provided a highlight for the Demons with a straight set victory at No. 1 singles. Seth Peterson also notched a singles win. Two of the six singles matches needed a third set with each team winning one. The doubles went 2-1 in favor of Minot.
Bismarck looks to rebound against Mandan on September 1, while Minot faces Williston, aiming to maintain their undefeated record.
