Bismarck defeats Grand Forks Red River, 2-1

BISMARCK - The Bismarck Demons secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over EDC perennial contender Grand Forks Red River in non-conference action on August 15.
Red River was picked third in the EDC preseason coaches poll and had a strong squad that generated a lot of attack time, finishing with 10 shots on goal. The opening goal of the match was credited to Red River's Kalifalo Donzo at the 50th minute. Bismarck High's Irvan Lozano tied the match with about 13 minutes to play and then standout Camren Haase netted the winner with four minutes to play.
Ean Marcus turned aside nine shots to get the win in goal. Next, Bismarck will face Jamestown on August 18, seeking to build on this momentum. Bismarck improved to 1-1 overall. Grand Forks Red River's next game has yet to be scheduled.
