MINOT -- Minot North secured a decisive 5-1 victory over Grand Forks Central in non-conference action on August 15.
After scoring four goals in their first game the night before, the Sentinels netted five more against the Knights. The match turned early in the second half when North scored three goals in a five-minute span. North's Jayden Marshall collected four points, including a pair of goals. Anthony Winter and Lorgan Ovitt also netted markers. Central briefly tied the match with a goal at the 21st minute after Marshall staked North to a 1-0 lead. However, the Sentinels quickly regained its lead, capitalizing on a Central miscue in the box which results in an Own Goal. Minot North's offense stiffened in the second half, not allowing a Central shot. The win improved Minot North to 2-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in WDA. Minot North will next face Legacy on August 18.
