GRAND FORKS - The dual season came to a close for Minot High on Oct. 8 at the ND state dual tournament at Choice Health and Fitness Center. Unfortunately, the final match didn't provide the Magicians with the ending they were hoping for. After falling in the semifinals to East Region Tournament champion G.F. Red River, Minot High was hoping to get a better result against EDC's No. 2 seed Fargo North. However, the Spartans played well in the singles matches, winning all three for an eventual 3-2 win. The Magi's victories came in doubles play. Henrik Evanoff and Calvin Olson needed a super set win to get the match win at No. 1 doubles. Owen Sundahl and Aiden Bye won in straight sets at No. 2 doubles. The pivotal match came at No. 2 singles. Minot's Connor Ressler rallied after dropping the first set to force a Super set. Unfortunately, the momentum from the win in set two didn't carry over. Minot ended another solid season, finishing 20-5.
