BISMARCK – The 2025-26 Western Dakota Association postseason tournament sites and dates are set following formal approval by conference activities directors. Seven communities are hosting region events. WDA/West Region Postseason Schedule
Fall
The fall sports season features five conference postseason tournaments/championships. Dickinson will host the West Region girls’ golf tournament at Heart River G.C. on Sept. 22. The top six teams along with the top 10 place winners will qualify for the state tournament which will be held in Fargo (Fargo Country Club), Sept. 29-30.
Mandan will host the West Region boys’ tennis tournament, Oct. 2-4 at the Mandan Tennis Center and Mandan Middle School Courts. The top four team place winners and top eight individual placers in singles and doubles play will advance to the state team and individual tournament in Grand Forks, Oct. 9-11.
Williston will host the WDA Cross Country Championships on Oct. 11 at Williston Municipal G.C. The Class A state meet is Oct. 25 at Parkhurst Recreation Area just northwest of Jamestown.
Mandan will host the WDA girls’ swim-dive Championships on Nov. 8 at the Mandan Aquatic Center.
Mandan will also host the West Region volleyball tournament at the Mandan High School, Nov. 13-15. The top four place winners will move on to the Class AA Tournament at the Bismarck Event Center, Nov. 20-22.
In boys’ soccer, the top four place winners in the WDA standings will advance to the ND state tournament which Mandan is hosting, Oct. 9-11, at Starion Sports Complex.
In football, the top four place winners in the WDA (Div. AAA) and the West Region (Div. AA) will advance to the postseason. Quarterfinals are set for Oct. 31 at home sites of the higher seeds with the semifinals on Nov. 7 and the Dakota Bowl in Fargo on Nov. 14.
Winter
The winter season postseason has eight conference/region postseason tournaments. It begins with the WDA boy’s dual wrestling tournament hosted by Mandan, Feb. 7. The top four place winners will represent the conference at the state Class A dual tournament in Fargo, Feb. 21.
Belcourt will host the girls’ and boys’ West Region Individual wrestling tournaments at the Byron Dorgan Youth Wellness Center. The girls’ tournament is Friday, Feb. 13 with the boys’ tournament on Saturday, Feb. 14. The top eight place winners in each weight classification will qualify for the state tournaments, Feb. 19-20, Fargo.
Jamestown will host the WDA Gymnastics Championships on Friday, Feb. 20 at the Jamestown HS. The state team and individual championships will be hosted by Dickinson High School, Feb. 27-28.
Mandan will host the WDA boys’ swim-dive championships, Feb. 28, at the Mandan Aquatic center. The state championships are March 6-7 at the West Fargo Hulbert Aquatic Center.
Bismarck will host the West Region boys’ hockey tournament, Feb. 19-21 at the VFW Sports Center. The top four finishers advance to the ND state tournament, Feb. 26-28, at Fargo Scheel’s Arena.
The Bismarck Event Center will again be the host for the West Region boys’ and girls’ basketball tournaments. The tournament is March 5-7. The four finishers in the boys’ and girls’ brackets will move on to the Division AA Tournament, March 12-14 also at the Bismarck Event Center.
In girls’ hockey, the top eight finishers in the ND League standings will qualify for the ND state girls’ tournament which is held Feb. 26-28 in Fargo.
Spring
The spring sports season features six conference postseason tournaments/championships. Dickinson will host the West Region boys’ and girls’ track and field meet on May 15 or May 16 at the Biesiot Activities Center. The top six place winners each event qualify for the Class A Meet which will be May 21-23 at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck.
Bismarck will host the WDA Baseball Tournament, May 21-23. It will be held at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark. The top four finishers advance to the Class A tournament which will be hosted by Minot on May 28-30 at Corbett Field.
Williston will host the WDA Softball Tournament, May 21-23 at Willison State College athletic complex. The top four finishers will move on to the Class A Tournament in Minot, May 28-30, at the South Hill Complex.
Minot is the host for the West Region girls’ tennis tournament, May 21-23 at Hammond Park. The top four team place winners and top eight individual placers in singles and doubles play will advance to the state team and individual tournament in Grand Forks, May 28-30.
Mandan will host the West Region boys’ golf tournament, May 27 at Prairie West G.C. The top six teams and top 10 region individual finishers advance to the Class A Tournament, June 3-4 at Fargo’s Oxbow G.C.
