Legacy tops WDA preseason poll

BISMARCK – Defending state champion Bismarck Legacy picked up eight first place votes and 64 points to earn the top pick in the 2025 preseason boys' soccer coaches' poll. Minot High was second in voting with 53 points and picked up the other first place vote. Jamestown was third with 43 points. Century was close behind in fourth with 40 points. Bismarck High was fifth followed by Williston in sixth; Mandan-St. Mary's in seventh; Minot North in eighth and Dickinson in ninth. Teams earned eight points for a first place vote…seven for second place…six for third place…five for fourth place…four for fifth place…three for sixth place…two for seventh place and one for eighth. Coaches did not vote for their own team in the poll. The 31st season of WDA play kicks off on Friday, Aug. 15 with a handful of matches. The top four placewinners in the WDA standings will qualify for the ND state tournament which is hosted by Mandan in October, 9-11.
