GRAND FORKS - Bismarck Legacy edged Jamestown 3-2 in a tightly contested match at the ND State Consolation semifinals, improving their record to 17-6 overall and 7-0 in the WDA. Jamestown concluded their season with a 7-12 record overall and 2-5 in the WDA.
Legacy's victory was highlighted by strong performances in the doubles matches. Declan Hosek and Carter Madison secured a win for Legacy with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Kale Backen and Haden Smith. In another crucial match, Andrew Jones and Kevin Kalb defeated Rajen Bansal and Josh Sagaser 6-1, 6-4, ensuring Legacy's progression.
In singles, Jamestown's Luke LeFevre and Braxton Burkett both won their matches in three sets, showcasing resilience and skill. LeFevre overcame Connor Svihovec 6-3, 4-6, 10-7, while Burkett defeated Brady Johnson 6-1, 5-7, 10-5. Despite these efforts, Legacy's overall team performance in doubles secured their victory.
With this win, Bismarck Legacy advances to face Minot, who holds an 18-7 overall record and 5-2 in the WDA, in the fifth place match on October 9.
